When dropping your vehicle off please make us aware of the location of your locking wheel key and bring your vehicle service book if required.

Can I get these services cheaper elsewhere?
Probably. However, please consider our labour rates are in line with other independent garages and cheaper than main dealers. The only way our prices can be beaten is by using poor quality parts or poor workmanship. We pride ourselves by providing good lasting repairs. Genuine parts fitted have a 2 year Parts and Labour Guarantee. We believe ….‘You get what you pay for’.
Will ProTec Automotive match or beat any other quote I get?

We will always try to match or beat any other quote on a ‘like for like’ service. We constantly study and research the market to ensure our services are always competitive. 

How long will you need my car to diagnose a fault?

2 days is normally advised. We try to diagnose faults on the day of booking and give quotes for the repair options. This depends on the individual issue. Time scales are usually governed by parts availability and the type of fault. Most of the time we can usually get parts overnight for next day delivery if we don’t have them in stock. In depth issues will take longer and be advised on a case-by-case basis.

How long does it take to service my vehicle?

We will normally ask you to bring your vehicle in for 09.00 am so we can make a start on it and complete it on the same day. This allows us to have some flexibility if any additional items are also required. We can always try to fit the completion time to meet customer requirements and our daily workshop loading.

If I supply the parts, will you fit them?

We don’t usually allow this, however, we do sometimes make exceptions depending on the parts supplied. The main reason for this is that incorrect parts supplied can hold up our workshop while waiting for replacements. If cost is the reason for wanting to supply your own parts then please give us a try and ask for alternative quotes. There is normally a cheaper option on parts quality depending on the customer’s needs.

Can you do dealer level diagnostic checks or repairs?

Yes! We use factory diagnostic equipment and also have multiple other applications.

Can I drop off the day before or earlier than 08.30?

Yes, that’s no problem. We do accept cars night prior to the booking and have a letter box for key drop off if required.

Do you do collection and delivery?

Yes, we can offer local collection and delivery from your home or work address.

The service is free, subject to a maximum milage. Collection outside this radius is charged. Costs are advised beforehand. Collection and delivery are subject to availability and pre-booking is required.

Do you have fixed price service costs?

Yes, we have vehicle-specific service costs. Please fill out our contact us form for an emailed quote.

How do I pay?

We will send over an itemized estimate via email with a minimum cost, so you are able to see the work to be completed on your vehicle. You will need to respond to authorize or decline the work.

When your vehicles work has been completed, you will get an invoice in the same way. We take BACs, Card, or Cash payment. We do not accept cheques. Card payments can be made over the phone, onsite or online using a payment link attached to the invoice. Please make us aware of your payment preferences when dropping off. All payments are due on or before collection.

Do you have loan vehicles?

Yes, we do have loan vehicles, they are subject to availability and pre booking. Our loan cars are free of charge if the minimum work is over 0.5 hours.

Will you work on a vehicle if it has been elsewhere for the same or similar issue?

Yes, subject to our terms. We have a process for accepting this type of repair.
You need to make us aware of this before booking the vehicle in. We require a minimum amount of information before accepting this type of booking. It is our right to refuse this type of repair if we do not get the correct amount of information required. We reserve the right to charge additionally if this information is withheld.

Can you recover my broken-down vehicle?

Yes, we can recover your vehicle if it can’t be driven to us. Please notify us of any accessibility issues like small off-road driveways or dangerous loading conditions like busy main roads. Also, the vehicle rolling condition. Especially in the case of accident damage. We allow half an hour loading time for standard recovery with all quoted prices, anything over half an hour due to complex conditions may be charged additionally.
